Many of the students opt for engineering year on year. Many engineers get passed out including me! 🙂 But as per the survey of IET it is clear that more than half of the employers are finding difficult to get the right employees. So the employers are finding difficult now a days for recruiting the right people as per their needs.
IET report says 51 percent employers find difficult to get right engineers
As per the report of IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) majority of the employers are not able to get a good number of brilliant students as per their needs. These findings were revealed from the 9th IET Skills and Demand Industry report. We will share some of the interesting findings for you.
Even the proportion of female engineers is not increased since 2008. We at technary believe that more engineering colleges for women like Cummins College of Engineering for Women should be started so that this problem is solved. So as per the survey only 6% of the workforce are women. This is a very shocking fact which everyone should now.

The most pathetic part is that these engineering companies are not taking any action for improving it. As good as 43% of employers are not concerned about this. We came to that 59% of the companies said that there is a shortage of engineers which can be a threat tot heir business.
Another majority of 53% employers think that the companies should get more interactive with schools, colleges and universities to help getting more skilled engineers than the bookish knowledge.
Getting proper skilled labor is a problem in many companies. So as per the survey 44 percent of the engineering & IT recruits say that new employees are not meeting the employer`s expected levels of skills. Companies as much as 52% believe in employing more apprentices in the 4 to 5 years of time.
In this occasion Nigel Fine(IET Executive) said that the demand for engineers in UK remains high. As high as 87,000 new engineers are needed. So all the freshers this is a very good stats which you should know. We at Technary believe that more initiatives should be taken for fostering Women in Engineering. Also teaching right skillset in the colleges are very important for nurturing the upcoming engineers.
