Created by world-renowned Dutch lifestyle designer and trendsetter, Hermenvan den Burg, well known for his work with Ikea and retail giant, the “smawatchophone” features a conventional round dial of dimensions 1.54 inch with a pixel density of 240 ppi, stylishly fused with avant-garde design with a scratch proof, water resistant colorful TFT display all blended with a minimum to no bezels providing resplendence.
As aforementioned, the unique feature of this watch is its standalone ability to function as a phone without pairing it to the smartphone like moto 360 or apple iWatch. However, the connectivity option is also available and the watch can be integrated with android, apple smartphones and headsets via Bluetooth 3.0.The watch performs all the basic functions of a phone from messaging to voice calling, reminders, notes, calendar, contact lists. One more striking feature of this watch is inbuilt camera that allows to take pictures instantaneously without spoiling the moment. The inbuilt speaker radiates good volume of music and provides a playback time of 4 hrs.
There is also a sim slot plus external memory card slot up to 16 GB which is impressive. The BURG 12 functions a standalone phone utilizing any GSM SIM card and offers $25 for prepaid texts and calls. Burg 12 provides a stand by time of 3 days which is not bad and 2-3 hrs. of talk time which is remarkably good. It also features an inbuilt rechargeable lithium ion battery which takes 3 hrs. to bring watch to life again.
