Videocon Telecom which was known as Videocon Mobile Services formerly is an Indian cellular service provider which offers GSM mobile services in India.This company is headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. It is a subsidiary of Videocon Industries and changed its logo and rebranded from Videocon Mobile Services to Videocon Telecom on 19th september 2013.
Videocon Telecom for Connect broadband
The Department of Telecommunications ( DoT) has given the Videocon company a high note by granting a Unified License-ISP (Category-A) on January 6th 2015.This License will permit the company to provide Internet services all over the India which is already running Broadband services named “Connect Broadband” in Punjab which is the market leader in that particular state. Videocon Telecommunication would be the first ISP in Punjab to roll out FTTX services (Fiber To The Endpoint) in Punjab area where the services include Internet Leased Lines,hosted and cloud services,Point to Point Leased circuits and data networks through MPLS etc.
In order to roll out in 6 to 7 years of ISP services the company has planned to invest Rs 340 Cr with next 1 year where the investment includes cost of Network deployment and investment in Hot spots,ISP License etc.
By prioritizing roll out of ISP in operational mobility circles the company is aiming merits and benefits are synergy on its existing and strong sales and distribution Network,cost factor,infra structure and value addition for customers for its mobility subscribers ultimately by 4G off load to Wi-Fi. Videocon Telecom has a plan to start the ISP roll out with its existing GSM Mobility circles including Gujarat, Harayana, MP, Chattisgarh and then move to Metros by prioritizing its ISP roll out.
