Technology is changing and becoming better and awesome day by day. Do we have an innovative product to review today? The answer is yes. Swipe has launched a new tabtop. Now what is a tabtop? Well it is a tablet which can also be used as a laptop or a netbook to be precise.
This is a Windows 8.1 tablet and known as the world`s first windows 8.1 tablet with a built in USB3.0 support and 3G. This device acts as a tablet and a laptop as per the need. So lets explore the device in this Swipe Ultimate Tablet Review.
We used this device extensively for a period of 7 days. In this time we have diagnosed the device in a lot of ways and found some interesting findings. So we are ready to share all the observations and our experience on this device with you.
Display
This is a 10.1 inch tablet. Screen resolution is only 1280×800 pixels which accounts to only 149 PPI. The display is having good brightness and it has 10 point multi touch. So the inputs on the display were smooth. The tablet has good viewing angle of 178 degree. There is scratch resistant glass protection on the display. There is a capacitive windows touch button just below the display.
Design
Above the display there is a 2MP camera. Next to the camera we can see a LED notification light. So while charging the device it glows or when camera is ON.
Left side of the device there is a standard 3.5mm audio jack and a standard USB 3.0 slot. So you can easily connect a USB flash drive, mouse or external hard disk as per the need.
Right side of the device we can see a microUSB slot, mini HDMI port. Next to this port there are charging port, microphone hole and micro SIM and microSD card slots. These do card slots are inside a plastic cover. There are loudspeakers on both the sides on the back. They do offer a stereo audio experience to the user with this arrangement.
While at the top of the tablet we can see the Power button which is at the extreme right at the top. Next to it are the volume rocker buttons. The back of the tablet is designed in such a way that it does offer some grip to the user. You can also see a 5MP camera at the back. This back cover is non removable. Overall we did liked the build quality of the tablet.
Keyboard
AS this is a tabtop the other part of the device is a keyboard. This is a detachable keyboard. The user just has to place the tablet on it. The tablet can be connected with ease using the proprietary connector.
This allows the keyboard to draw or consume power directly from the tablet. So there is no different power supply needed for the same. The keyboard is compact and does have all the keys. One strange point we noticed was:
Right shift key is on the right side of the Up arrow key.
So with this arrangement it is for sure you will make a lot of typing mistakes as it is not the actual arrangement. My goal was to write the review on the swipe ultimate tablet using its keyboard, but I was not able to do it.
There are caps lock, scroll lock and num lock. There is a trackpad which works fine with the tablet on the keyboard. The keyboard is pretty hard to type and does not provide good typing experience at all.
Though we liked the buttons for right and left click just below the trackpad which work smoothly. The weight of the tablet is 635 grams, which is surely a bit heavy.
Camera
The rear camera of the tablet is of 5MP and has auto focus. The camera is capable of taking good shots in the natural light. In windows its really very easy to start the camera, just by gesturing the screen from left to right. The camera of the device is also capable of capturing videos at 1080p with full HD resolution. Please do not expect much from the camera of this tablet, it just serves the purpose.

OS – Windows 8.1
Yes it is like a desktop, the device is equipped with a windows 8.1 32 bit. So it has all the features of what Windows 8.1 has. The device is powered with bing for search. The user also gets a free Office 365 subscription with this device.
Memory
The device has an inbuilt storage of 32GB. From that memory only 23.5GB is usable. Though you only get a space of 20 after the setup is complete. There are microSD slots so you can use it to expand the memory.
Music
For playing music there is the very known but not so used much Windows Media Player. You can also install and use other third party music players like VLC. The volume or the decibel levels are very loud and high. But please do not expect a good sound quality from the speakers of the tablet. The company also does not provide any earphones with the device. But when we used our JBL headphones the overall sound experience was like heaven. Just the speakers are loud but not that clear.
Video Playpack
We tested videos of 1080p on this device and they were running smoothly even on the default Windows Media Player. The only problem arised when we tried to play a 4K video, though the processor was not able to support it. So you can play only videos upto 1080p, though with a better display the video watching experience would had been better.
Connectivity
There are many features in this tabtop. Though you must be excited to know about the 3G connectivity first. Yes it has a SIM card slot for 3G HSPA+. We used a sim, but there was no feature for voice calling. Although Windows 8.1 also never support voice calling. That was missing. At such price we think that they could had implemented this feature. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, USB 3.0 and mini HDMI. The user can connect a dongle to enjoy 3G on this device.
Performance
This device is having a 1.33 GHZ Intel Atom Z3735F quad core processor. It is supported by Intel HD graphics and 2MB L2 Cache. We used it extensively for long duration with heavy multi-tasking.The device did responded well. It is having 2GB RAM which is really a boon to the Ultimate tab. But while using it for heavy multi tasking the tablet gets heated up. It does give overall good performance.
Battery
Swipe Ultimate 3G Tab has a battery capacity of 7000mAh. This is a god battery capacity. We charged it upto 100% and then did a lot of tests including multi tasking and used it extensively. The battery still lasted for a stunning 6 hours 41 minutes. This is a very good battery backup which we experienced from the tablet. The charger is of very cheap quality.
Also while charging the device LED notification light is lid up. So while using the device it is really irritating and it can surely damage the eyes. So we recommend not to use the device while charging as the red light will be straight into your eyes while working and will surely be itchy to your eyes. This was a very unique observation which we found can be disastrous while working for sure.
In Box Contents
The contents in the box were Tablet(Black color), OTG Cable, AC power adapter, keyboard with trackpad and a warranty card. The AC Power charger did seemed to be of poor build quality.
Final Verdict
This tabtop is for users who like to do web surfing and travel a lot. Though while using it with keyboard you have to keep it on a table and work. So its pretty difficult to keep it on your lap and use, though you can use it as a tablet. Apart from low keyboard quality and getting heated up no other major concerns as such. If you are looking for a good performance tabtop with good battery backup, then this can be the device you should buy.
