Its TIZEN season this new year.. And who is introducing us to TIZEN? It’s none other than our beloved Samsung! The Tizen Operating system is targeting a wide range of gadgets from smart phones to most of the wearable computing devices. Samsung makes us stand surprised with its new and more importantly, its wallet friendly new release, the Tizen-OS powered Smartphone.

Looks like Samsung has realized that, it’s now the era of budget friendly smartphones and it needs to compete with its rivals. The price of this gadget is around Rs.5, 700. The price makes us wonder whether it is really a Samsung make, but still we have reasons to believe the news. Perhaps, Samsung grabbed Tizen because Samsung is one of the partners in the technical team that designed the Tizen OS.

Just because we are offered a great price along with a new OS package, doesn’t mean it would look different. The gadget is no less, no more than the usual Samsung gadgets look wise. The gadget sports a 4 inch display with WVGA resolution with 800 x 480 pixels. Just a little above the display is the VGA front camera and a chrome ear piece. While we say that the front camera is a mere VGA, we can expect a lagged quality in the outcome of pictures. We can never be sure until we see it ourselves. The smartphone has 768 MB of RAM and 4 Gigs of internal storage and an external card support of 64 GB. The phone has a micro USB port situated at the bottom.

Although it is a budget newbie, it still has all the necessities supported like that of the 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, ultra power saving mode and Bluetooth. The Z1 gets power from a 1500 mAh battery. A 1.2 GHz A7 dual core processor powers the smartphone. An ‘ultra power saving mode’ adds extra life to the battery. It is quite obvious that an OS which is different, wouldn’t support Android apps, but here is the news which will save you from that agony. If you could install the OpenMobile application or ACL it shouldn’t be an issue of concern. Weighing (battery weight inclusive) 112 grams and measuring about 9.7 mm thick, the Z1 comes in Red, White and Black colors.

Just for the price and the brand name this gadget carries, we would be waiting to try it. Isn’t it?
