Twitter recently announced about getting two new board members. They will replace Peter Currie and Peter Chernin after their annual meeting. Well who are the new members? Let us find that out.
Twitter appoints new board members
The two new board members appointed by Twitter are Hugh Johnston and Martha Lane Fox. Hugh Johnston was the Vice chairman and CFO of Pepsico. He has served various roles in the organization. He was also one of the board members of AOL. He has a degree in BS from Syracuse University and MBA from University of Chicago.
Well the news spread as Twitter giant has taken a step to get an ex Pepsico person on board. Tech companies seem to be keen to get into roles in board from various industries. We hope that he will be of a great value to Twitter.
Martha Lane Fox earlier was a co founder at lastminute.com. She is an entrepreneur and has served as a board member in various tech companies. She was also appointed as a Chancellor of Open University. She completed her BA in ancient history and modern history from University of Oxford. Well she also served as a board of directors at Marks & Spencer recently which is a retail company. So we believe that Twitter has got great individuals, mainly having experience at leadership positions from retail and internet companies.
From the above two, Martha Lane Fox seems to be a prolific tweeter. She has tweeted more than 17K tweets. So this will surely help the company to have a power user of Twitter on board. Let us give all our best wishes to them and we hope that they make Twitter a better company.
