Sony Xperia J1 Compact launched

Sony has launched a new smartphone known as the Sony Xperia J1 Compact. This is also known as the first “SIM free” smartphone. The phone is launched in Japan. The model number of this handset is Sony Xperia J1 Compact (D5788). This handset was launched with the telecom partner NTT DOCOMO. The phone will be available from April 20 in Japan for a Price of JPY 59,184(30,000 INR approx).

The phone will be available for the pre-orders from March 27th. The phone is Sony`s first device LTE communication “PLAY SIM” device. It has a MVNO support. MVNO stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operator. Sony says that the user can do voice calls plans offered by the NTT Docomo.

This phone is running on Android Kitkat (4.4.4) and has a display of 4.3 inch with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The phone has 2GB RAM and is equipped with the 2.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. There is an inbuilt memory of 16GB and can be expanded using a microSD card. Rear camera is of 20.7MP with flash and a 2.2 MP front camera.

Talking about the connectivity features which include Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and GPS/A-GPS. The phone has a battery capacity of 2300 mAh and yes it is a non removable battery. The phone is having a weight of 138 grams. The dimensions of the handset are 128x65x9.7mm. The phone is said to be having water and dust proof ratings.
