BlackBerry Classic launched exclusively on Snapdeal for Rs. 31,990

Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry, on Thursday launched the Classic smartphone in India for Rs.31,990. The phone will be available in the market January 15 onwards exclusively on Snapdeal.com. The Classic marks a return to its roots for BlackBerry. Like the Bold 9900 from 2011, the phone features a full QWERTY keyboard and hardware BlackBerry buttons and signature optical trackpad.

This means that the phone has support for the famed BlackBerry shortcuts, and the phone can be navigated with the trackpad and key and the use of the touch screen is not compulsory. In addition, the phone runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3 unlike the Bold 9900, which ran on the older BB7 OS.

The phone has a 3.5-inch square 720×720 pixel LCD screen. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor (MSM8960), which was also seen on the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10. There is 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot, which can be used to expand the memory by up to 128GB.

The phone also has an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. It also has a 2,515mAh battery. The phone is 4G enabled with support for FD-LTE and Band 3 at 1800mHz.

With BlackBerry OS 10.3 one gets new features like the BlackBerry Assistant and even support for more than 200,000 Android apps via the Amazon app store.
