PayUMoney is an online payments solution from PayU India. They are an online payment company that is head quartered in Gurgaon. PayU serves more than 30,000 businesses today with clientele including Goibibo, Snapdeal, Bookmyshow, Jabong, Zomato, Micromax Mobile and many more. PayUMoney has tied up with ICICI credit and debit cards to bring the Fantastic Fifteen Shopping Festival- an online shopping festival that will span over 15 days for Indian shoppers with 35 online brands to choose from.

A note from PayUMoney states that shoppers will get up to 40% off on shopping with ICICI Bank Credit and Debit Cards. Further, every consumer will get an assured discount of upto 15% on every transaction done through PayUMoney. Named Fantastic Fifteen, the festival begins today, the 26th of August till 9th September, 2014. There are additional perks like shoppers standing a chance to win two Moto G smart phones every day and 3000+ gift vouchers across the span of 15 days.

There are 35 online brands participating in the festival including the likes Jabong, Dominos, adidas, Shopclues, BookMyShow, Goibibo, Red Bus, Zovi, Fabfurnish and Infibeam. An interesting thing to note is that Flipkart is not participating but Moto G is being given away as a freebie everyday (if that is any consolation). Talking about the festival, Shailaz Nag, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at PayU India said:

We’re extremely delighted to partner with ICICI bank for the fantastic 15 shopping festival. In fact it’s for the first time that a bank and an online payments company have joined hands to put a shopping festival of this scale. Not only one gets the best of brands to shop from and best of the offer to avail, the festival assures that one is rewarded while buying. We hope that festival will attract buyers across the country and wish to roll out such festivals more frequently.

The festival takes cue from The Great online shopping festival (GOSF) that Google has been conducting from the past two years (see what happened at the last one). A quick browse through the offers on the Fantastic Fifteen Shopping Festival is a bit of a damper as the claimed 40% discount is being offered by Jabong alone. That aside, the page is neatly done and all Terms and Conditions are clearly stated with each offer. We’ll have to wait a while to see what results come up but one can expect more such initiatives as more and more Indians come online and become comfortable with the idea of shopping online.
