ASUS had launched 3 smartphones in the ASUS Zenfone series few months ago. These 3 phones were the Asus zenfone 4, 5 and 6. All these smartphones are named from the display sizes of these smartphones. This smartphone Asus zenfone 4 is made for low budget smartphone buyers. We got a chance to review this smartphones. So let us start exploring this smartphone.

Asus Zenfone 4 review

Design

We always talk about the first look of the smartphone. So in the first look of this phone we found that this smartphone is heavy and the grip is good. The weight of the phone is 115g. The phone has dimensions 61.44 x 124.42 x 11.5 mm. The volume rocker buttons are placed on the right side of the handset. There is a lock screen button above the volume rocker similar to the Asus Zenfone 5.

We liked the overall grip of the smartphone. It is heavy but it fits perfectly in your hand. Below the screen there are back, Home and Recent apps touch buttons. The camera is placed at the back. The smartphone is surely bulgier than the Asus Zenfone 5. A 3.5 mm jack can be found at the upper side of the smartphone. The microUSB socket is placed at the left side of the phone. Does seem to be a phone for rough use. But display can be very fragile for sure.

Display

As the name of the phone suggests, the smartphone has a display of 4 inches. The resolution of the screen is 800x 480 pixels. This accounts to 233.24 PPI. It is a TFT multi touch capacitive display with a Soda Lime Glass. The company does says that the smartphone has a display for tough protection, but we do doubt and think that it is very fragile. If the phone falls down accidentally, boom there will be a crack on the display for sure.

User Experience

First thing which will appear to you will be the Asus ZenUI. This is a very interesting UI. There are a lot of options for the user. The user can have homescreens, widgets in the home. Also there are some interesting apps you will find in the smartphone. SuperNote is one of the interesting apps which you will be glad to explore.

Performance

The smartphone is equipped with an Intel Atom Z2520 processor. This is a dual core 1.2 GHz processor with Hyper Threading technology with the integrated PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphics. The device has a 1GB of RAM with 8GB of internal storage. In this price range it is the best a user can get. We utilized the smartphone and did multi-tasking with various applications and the smartphone did responded well. But very high end games are not playable on this device for sure.

Camera

JpegThis smartphone has a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. This smartphone does not have a LED flash.

Final Verdict

The smartphone seems to be a good deal at this price point. Though this phone does not have a LED Flash. So if it is a requirement for you then don`t go for this phone, otherwise a good deal for sure.
