We like to use our smartphones a lot! So, then do we need for a tablet? Well, let us find out. Asus have launched a new tablet, the Asus ZenPad 7.0. Let us explore more this device in detail and get to know more about it.

How Asus ZenPad 7.0 helped me for my exam preparations?

I used this tablet for a very long time. The most important time for any student are the exams in their life. So preparing for them is what is the focus of any student. I was able to login to my e-mail account using the Gmail App in the tablet with ease. With the use of applications I was able to access the Word and Powerpoint presentations sent by my college professors. So reading them on a large screen wherever and whenever helped me a lot.

Apart from that reading e-books of various authors, mostly reference books was possible because of the tablet. I avoid reading ebooks on my smartphone because the font is very small and I don`t like to stress my eyes. On a smartphone when you zoom and read you have to keep on moving the page to keep reading, which is a pain. This tablet solves it as you just have to scroll down while reading and not keep aligning the document. Reading reference books on the tablet was great.

Asus ZenPad also helped me in entertainment purpose for listening to my favourite songs when I was bored. During studies, it really helped me to enjoy my break time and listening to amazing music using the Audio output is just amazing when used the cover accessory. It seemed to be an ideal companion for a student for sure.

Asus ZenPad 7.0 Features

Design

When we look at the tablet, one thing is what we are amazed to see, is the huge display. The best part is that the tablet can be easily held in one hand. So while calling you can use it using one hand too. Now talking about the design of this device, on the front we can see a 7 inch display. Below the display we can see the Asus branding.

There is an earphone above the display and a front facing camera. On top there is a 3.5 mm jack and there are volume rocker buttons and Power/Lock buttons placed on the right hand side.

There is a microUSB slot for data transfer/charging of the device and a microphone next to it at the bottom of the device. When we talk about front look, because of the bezel border it looks cool. Talking about the back part, well the device is having a normal textured plastic cover. Also you can use the most amazing audio cover with this device which when used will blow your mind.

Display

The device has a 7 inch display. It has 1280 x 800 pixels of screen resolution. It accounts to 216PPI (pixels per inch). It is a display with normal features and can be viewed at wide viewing angles with ease. It is interesting to use in high brightness as per the usage. I liked the brightness levels of the device and watching movies or playing games on this tablet is fun indeed.

Performance

This ZenPad is using a Quad core Intel Atom x3 C3230 chipset with Mali 450 GPU. There is 2GB of RAM, in built memory of 16GB and can be expanded using a microSD card of upto 128GB. With 2GB RAM and the Intel hardware provided with the device most of the apps worked smoothly.

Talking about the amazing audio cover performance. This audio cover when fixed with the tablet, the audio output of the device improved a lot. Rather it goes to the next level. You can listen to your favourite music at very high volumes and it will drive crazy.

This is an amazing accessory with the device which increases the audio output tremendously. There is a speaker in the accessory and you can keep it mounted in a landscape mode and watch videos/movies with ease. This is one of the biggest advantage of this device for sure.

We can play casual games with ease using this device. Though heavy gaming not recommended on this device.

Software

This device is equipped with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Operating System. The famous Asus ZenUI is used in this device. There are few pre-loaded apps in the tablet. There is also a kids mode which is great for users who are parents. There is a Power Saver mode which I like the most of them.

This helps you to switch between various power saving modes when in need. There are also apps like the PhotoCollage, which will help you make easy grids using your photos for your loved ones. Overall user experience is good and simple for the new user.

Camera

It has a 8MP rear camera. Though there is no flash accompanied with it. Still the camera is able to capture decent pictures in the daylight. You can check the camera samples using the rear camera of the tablet. There is also a front camera of 2MP in the device.

This is a normal camera for video calling, that is not that amazing for clicking selfies though. There are various modes in the camera like the Beautification, Selfie, Panorama, Auto, Night, HDR, Effect, GIF Animation, Slow Motion and Timelapse.

Rear camera is also capable of capturing HD videos.

Connectivity Features

It has a micro SIM slot that supports 3G. There is also GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity in the device.

Battery

It is having a battery capacity of 2300 mAh. We used this tablet for long time and believe that it will help to give you performance for one day with normal usage.

Why should you buy the ZenPad 7.0?

There are many reasons to buy this device, have you guessed the main reason?

The first reason is to buy it as a companion. Wherever you go, you can carry it with you, a larger display will help you to showcase your work using the tablet to others. You can also give presentations on the tablet to your clients in a meeting.

Well the audio output is just amazing, so why not tune into your favourite music on the beach with this tablet. If not on beach, you can start or play the music wherever and whenever you want. You can think of making your date perfect by playing the music by setting up the mood for your soul mate. Dancing to your favourite tracks using the ZenPad with the audio cover surely is very entertaining.

Mahindra Blazo Smart Truck Experience – A day at Chakan

Transport is one of the pillars of our nation`s growth. There are a lot of things relied on the transport for sure. The integral part of road transport are the trucks. We can see many trucks on the road carrying various items from one place to another. Has anyone taken a step to make these trucks more efficient and smarter? Well in India, Mahindra Smart Trucks & Buses division has taken a step and launched India`s first smart truck. Yes its Mahindra Blazo series.

In the era of technology you might have heard about smart phones or even smart watches, but do you know about the latest smart truck in India? Well get acquainted with Mahindra Blaze the future of smart truck is here in India. Who will get benefited? Well thousands of transport owners can have the luxury of Mahindra Blazo for a efficient, secure and smart travel of their trucks.

We were lucky to be invited at Mahindra`s plant in Chakan where these smart trucks are manufactured. So here is our experience about the truck and my viewpoints for the same. I was amazed to see the amount of research, dedication and hardwork the team has put in to make this truck into existence. You might have seen the recent television advertisements of Ajay Devgan talking about the 48 hours back on road service guarantee or they pay Rs.1000 per day to the truck owner. We will talk about these in detail in our experience.

The MTBD (Mahindra Truck & Bus Division) is a part of Mahindra Group. They have named their new heavy commercial truck series as BLAZO. This series include tractor trailer, haulage and tipper. It is equipped with a fuelsmart technology.

Fuelsmart Technology

There is a use of Fuelsmart technology in the Blazo series. There is a CRDe engine coupled with Multi drive mode feature mainly seen in the passenger cars. There are three modes which can be switched by the driver. These are:

Turbo Mode – Used for carrying full load and while driving on steep incline
Heavy Mode – Useful for carrying full load without any steep incline
Light Mode – Used when the load is empty or half full

Certainly using the Fuelsmart technology will save a lot of fuel by the truck drivers and truck owners for sure. Saving even a small percentage of fuel is a big boon for the transport companies. With this technology Mahindra in its Blaze, Technology has made a very important multimode feature to do the same.

Design

We got an opportunity to sit in the cabins of the Mahindra Blazo trucks. All these cabins are very spacious and comfortable. We had an opportunity to sit in a cabin where there is a sleeper coach like a railway but more better. This sleeper seat is important in a long journey, if there are two drivers they can swap & sleep one after the other and the truck keeps on route. There are also seats for the subordinates.

Mahindra has made a lot of efforts for the comfort of the truck driver. When you are seated on the seat of the driver you never feel that you are sitting inside a truck. It felt like a SUV driving seat kind of experience. There is a fan just above the head of the driver to keep the cool which is just amazing.

There are Air Conditioner installation slots. So there is an option to make the compartments Air conditioned too by the owner. This is great as long journeys and mainly in summers are a bit too energy drain without an AC. So there is an option for installing AC in the cabin. There are a lot of switches in the compartment. These switches give the complete control of the truck to the driver for sure.

While going on the test drive, we were 5 passengers and a driver. Still we were comfortably seated in the truck`s cabin. This is a great luxury for the passengers and the travelers for sure which will make the journey less hectic indeed.

Performance

While taking a ride of the truck and enjoying the ride as a passenger gave us a very in depth knowledge about the truck. Certainly this truck seemed to be very very powerful and during the turns the driver was able to take swift turns with precision. We did felt safe during our entire ride. There are a lot of safety precautions made by the manufacturer.

We had seen the manufacturing process of the Mahindra Blazo Truck and we were amazed to see the built in process with the use of Robotic Engineering. So there are huge automated robots who are building the Mahindra Blazo Trucks with precision. These huge Robots were doing their work very fast and must be doing it with accuracy.

Back On Road Service Guarantee

When we discussed about the Back On Road Service guarantee with the CEO of MTBD, he was confident about the same. Also we had a meeting with the VP of MTBD division who was confident of the trucks that they are willing to pay Rs.1000 per day after the 48 hours of back on road service. This is a very important move as it creates trust among the truck fleet owners.

This a very optimistic and ambitious promise by the manufacturers for sure. In case of any problem for the driver they can call the 24×7 support for the MTBD section which is available in 7 regional languages. There will be 2900 Roadside Assistance service points all over India in the due course of time.

Summing it Up

We were thrilled to have an amazing experience with the Mahindra Blazo truck series. There were many times we were shocked to see the innovations in the trucks. This smart truck firstly launched in India will surely be a great pleasure for all the Truck and road transport owners as their work will be more efficient indeed. It is time to be smart and we believe that soon you will see many smart trucks on the Indian Roads.
