This was gone through rigorous testing which included application installation protection, application execution protection and the application content protection with DRM (Digital Rights Management) encryption.
The OS blocks the installation of unauthorized apps by having a digital signature verification process. The LG App Store server ensures that the webOS 3.5 installs applications downloaded only from the LG App Store. With the increased DRM license verification process it helps to decrypt the encrypted content inside the RAM and creates a clean backup of the encrypted content in the flash memory.
This is a great step by the company and a good news for the brand and its smart TV consumers. Security is an important concern and with this certification, the trust among the consumers towards the brand will surely grow in the Smart TV segment.
