A cool way to share Photos on Twitter

A couple of weeks ago TwitPic finally got a real competitor. It’s a new free photo sharing service for Twitter called TweetPhoto. And it will, as they say, significantly improve photo sharing experience on Twitter.
Similar to TwitPic, TweetPhoto users can easily upload photos and TweetPhoto will automatically publish those photos and turn them into tweets on Twitter. You use your Twitter name and password to use the site. It also supports uploads by email or mobile, and comments, but that’s where the similarities with TwitPic end.tweetphoto1
With TweetPhoto you can:

  • Upload photos via mobile phone and the web to TweetPhoto
  • Share through Twitter and Facebook
  • Favorite the photos you like
  • See who views your photos; favorites your photos, comments on your photos
  • Track how many people looked at a photo
  • Automatically geo-tag photos sent from a GPS enabled phone
  • Use an integrated URL shortening service, http://pic.gd
  • Filter photos by Twitter or Facebook friends
  • Self-moderate comments
  • Search tagged photos throughout the site
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds by user or tags

TweetPhoto is changing the way photos are accessed and shared by Twitter users. TweetPhoto improves the photo consumption experience by extending the life of photos beyond the tweet. This empowers users to view photos shared by the people they follow on Twitter so they never miss a photo again.
What I really like about TweetPhoto, is that all of these features are easily accessible and discoverable from your dashboard view of photos hosted on the site. Tabs across the top navigation make it easy to view your photos, return to favorites, browse friends’ photos, and check out the public stream.
